The Hubei Association actively participated in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
2025年7月5日，由当地侨界成立的世界反法西斯战争暨中国人民抗日战争胜利80周年系列活动组委会主办、加拿大华人同乡会联合总会共同主办、湖北同乡会等社团协办的“纪念世界反法西斯战争及中国抗日战争胜利八十周年系列庆典活动——历史回顾研讨会与抗战历史图片展”在多伦多圆满举行。
湖北同乡会在本次活动中积极参与筹备工作，韩明辉会长为筹备会成员之一，并组织义工团队全力支持，确保活动顺利开展。当天，当地侨界人士、抗日将领后裔、退伍军人组织代表、历史专家学者等齐聚一堂，共同回顾那段波澜壮阔的历史，缅怀先烈英勇事迹，并展望和平与发展的未来。湖北同乡会理事韩丽女士是韩梅村蒋军孙女，她动情地回忆韩梅村蒋军在抗战中的英雄事迹。
此次研讨会与图片展不仅展示了珍贵的抗战史料，更加深了中加两国民众对二战历史的认知与反思，具有重要的历史与现实意义。湖北同乡会将继续致力于弘扬爱国精神，促进文化交流与社区团结。
On July 5, 2025, the “Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Series of Activities – A Historical Review Seminar and Anti-Japanese War Historical Photo Exhibition” was successfully held in Toronto. The event was hosted by the Organizing Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, co-organized by the Federation of Chinese Associations of Canada, and co-organized by the Hubei Association and other organizations.
The Hubei Association actively participated in the preparation and organization of this event. President Han Minghui served on the preparatory committee and organized a team of volunteers to ensure its smooth progress. On the day, local overseas Chinese, descendants of anti-Japanese generals, representatives of veterans’ organizations, and historical experts and scholars gathered to review that turbulent history, commemorate the heroic deeds of the martyrs, and envision a future of peace and development. Ms. Han Li, a member of the Hubei Association’s board and the granddaughter of Chiang Kai-shek’s army in Hanmei Village, spoke movingly about the heroic deeds of Chiang Kai-shek’s army in Hanmei Village during the War of Resistance.
The seminar and photo exhibition not only showcased valuable historical materials from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression but also deepened the understanding and reflection of the history of World War II among the Chinese and Canadian people, holding significant historical and contemporary significance. The Hubei Association will continue to be committed to promoting patriotism, cultural exchanges and community unity.
